In Your Hands

This week there were a few designs, some started and erased, others completed only to be set aside, and one near completion but then abandoned for lack of verve, but there was one whisper from the universe that grabbed my attention and held it ~ ‘What of hands?’. Hands that work. Hands that love. And lastly, hands that have the ability to save. And in that, the design was shaped.

We can perform the most peaceful and delicate tasks, inflict great harm, or work in service for the good of all by using our hands. The choice is truly up to us.

Language bears a phrase about hands as a trust and choice as well. ‘I leave it in your hands.’ or ‘I leave her/him in your hands’. Both phrases are about trust. The first lends to the meaning that you will complete the task or to care for the item that was left behind. Secondly, trust is granted again, but this time, it is a charge to care and nurture a cherished one. More deeply stated, I have entrusted to you to make decisions that will be a benefit to them for their highest good.

If brought into the light of day, we might say that it is ‘in your hand’ to choose how you walk through this world and how you use your hands. In this day, week, or year, will you use it for the conversation of the good of all or to the detriment?

Perhaps Saint Augustine made some valid points to learn form and gave some advice in asking and sharing what he believed, “What does love look like? It has the hands to help others. It has the feet to hasten to the poor and needy. It has eyes to see misery and want. It has the ears to hear the sighs and sorrows of men. That is what love looks like.”

I share with you a coloring page and my interpretation. Peace to you.
